Rubber to Oil

A solution to one of the world's biggest enviromental problems.

Tires, an environmental nightmare the world over.

Millions of automotive tires are scrapped everyday, in all parts of the developed world. Almost all of these tires end up in landfill sites where they take many many years to decompose. Stacks of old tires also present potential health risks, scrap tire piles can become homes to pests and provide the perfect environment for mosquitoes to breed, they are a potential fire hazard, and they can contaminate surface water run-off.

Important Facts

  • A standard car tire can produce about the same Btu's as around 9.5 litres of gasoline.
  • The gas emitted (a by-product) provides the energy necessary to fuel the process.
  • Due to a catalyst (trade secret) and a highly optimized process, oil can be extracted in
2 to 4 hours from a large source of tires.
  • The steel found in tires, is separated by our process, and sold to metal recyclers.
  • The carbon black that is a remnant of our process can be mixed with the tire oil and used as a fuel or used in asphalt production.
  • The process can be highly automated.
